Samantha Narins, MSED, LMSW, is a psychotherapist that specializes in working with adolescents and adults experiencing challenges related to anxiety, depression, autism, ADHD, mood disorders, eating disorders, substance abuse, self-harm, relationship difficulties and low self-esteem. Samantha has a special interest in working with those struggling with learning differences, executive functioning, academics and social difficulties. Samantha acts as both a therapist and coach when working with these clients. Additionally, Samantha particularly enjoys working with college-age and young adults struggling with identifying life goals, making early career adjustments, managing life transitions and decision making. Samantha’s style is dynamic, supportive, open minded and solution and action oriented. She supports clients in structuring value-driven lives, habits, and routines around what works and feels best for them so that their personal and professional goals can be achieved. By ensuring a positive and judgement-free atmosphere, Samantha works with clients to find creative and structured ways to manage their individual symptoms and establish positive and lasting change. Samantha practices from a holistic perspective and believes in the importance of healing both the mind and body. Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, Samantha taught in a variety of school settings including a therapeutic day treatment program. Samantha has extensive knowledge of 504 Plans and IEP’s and acts as an advocate for her clients who may benefit from school accommodations and/or modifications. Samantha’s educational background coupled with her psychotherapy experience allows Samantha to work with her clients from both perspectives. In addition to a Master of Education, Samantha holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Denver, where she focused her studies on holistic mental health and wellness. She utilizes an integrative blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Executive Function Skill building, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Mindfulness. Samantha is a Licensed Social Worker in the state of New York.
