BiographyAbout Laura
Laura Feld, LCSW, is a psychotherapist with experience in individual, group, and family therapy. Laura is trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), psychodynamic and relational modalities and has extensive experience in outpatient mental health, where she worked as a clinician and a clinical supervisor. Additionally, she was in private practice in Manhattan for several years before relocating to Westchester County. Laura has done a lot of work treating adolescents and adults who are struggling with anxiety and panic attacks/disorders, depression, obsessive thinking, low self-esteem, substance abuse disorders, Bipolar Disorder and marital/relationship issues. Laura also has experience working with families in crisis, those struggling with parenting difficulties and/or need to increase communication within their family system. Laura also has a knack for working with adolescents and appreciates the difficulties each teen faces in today’s world full of academic and peer pressure. Laura has very strong engagement skills and creates a safe and supportive environment for her clients. She works from a strength based perspective and believes that change is possible. Laura believes strongly in the relationship between client and therapist as being the most important facilitator for change and prides herself on her ability to connect with people with all different personalities. She creates a safe space, free from judgement to be able to meet the needs of each individual she works with. Laura prioritizes the relationship between client and therapist but infuses skill building and the development of effective coping mechanisms in her work to help her clients become the best version of themselves. Laura received her Bachelors Degree from Indiana University and her Master's Degree in Social Work from New York University. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of New York. Laura is available to see clients on Saturdays and weekday mornings.
