Nicole Lampel, LCAT, ATR-BC is a registered, board certified, Licensed Creative Arts Therapist and Certified Yoga Instructor. Nicole uses both art and talk therapy with individuals, families, and groups to guide her clients through a safe healing process. She partners with the client and uses strengths-based, solution-focused approaches and mindfulness techniques to help individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, self-injurious behaviors, low self-esteem, substance abuse, addictions, trauma and PTSD, identity issues, mood disorders and personality disorders. Additionally Nicole has extensive experience and a passion for working with parents and families. Nicole’s experience includes providing individual, family, and group therapy to adolescents and their families in the child welfare system throughout Westchester and Brooklyn, at an outpatient mental health clinic, and at a recovery program for adults with mental health and substance abuse issues. Her work has focused on those affected by multiple traumas. She helps clients identify how these experiences affect his or her life and learn skills to better manage symptoms. She believes it is important to incorporate on both emotional and physical health for people to truly feel their best. Nicole is experienced and trained in several therapy modalities to include Art Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Relational, Mindfulness, Psychodynamic and Trauma Focused. Nicole combines these approaches coupled with her unique personality in her work to create a unique therapeutic experience for each and every client she serves. Nicole is compassionate, supportive and empathetic. She prides herself on her ability to connect with individuals of all ages and personalities-especially adolescents who may be anxious or hesitant about starting therapy. Nicole received her master’s degree in Creative Arts Therapy from Pratt in 2008, where she received the Department Award for Academic Excellence, and graduated with honors with her bachelor’s degree from Temple University. Additionally, Nicole serves as the Assistant Director working closely with Alison Varianides, Executive Director, to match clients to the appropriate therapist within the practice, to ensure the best “fit," and be an additional resource for clients.
