Marie McCalvin, LMSW is a psychotherapist that specializes in working with children (4+), adolescents, young adults, families and couples. Marie assists her clients with emotional disturbances, behavioral concerns, anxiety, depression, substance misuse, self-harm, body image, transitions to adulthood, conflict resolution, anger management and family/school difficulties. Marie uses a strengths-based and evidence-based approach, while meeting her clients where they are, to address her clients’ concerns. Marie’s goal is to help her clients build balance within their lives using coping strategies and recognizing stressors. Marie’s style is compassionate, warm, inviting and empathetic. She works to empower her clients and collaborate with her clients to achieve their goals. Marie holds a Master of Social Work Degree from SUNY Stony Brook University, and has experience with Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused CBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Play Therapy and other therapeutic modalities. Ms. Kemp is a Licensed Master Social Worker in New York State.
