BiographyAbout Jessica
Jessica Rebello, LCSW is a psychotherapist who works with adolescents (13+), adults and families with a special interest in individuals in their 20’s and 30’s. Jessica specializes in the treatment of depression, anxiety, panic attacks, trauma, social skills, low self-esteem, interpersonal conflicts, self-injurious behaviors, life transitions (graduating HS/college, getting a new job, getting married…etc) and those with “perfectionistic” or “overachiever” traits that interfere with one achieving their full potential. Jessica recognizes the importance of building a strong therapeutic relationship and gaining her clients’ trust in order to reach positive therapeutic outcomes. To accomplish this, she establishes open and honest communication through an empathic, encouraging and non-judgmental approach with her clients. Jessica believes in meeting the client where they are and that all clients present with strengths that are unique to them given their own life experiences. By helping each client recognize these strengths through reflecting on previous life challenges to better understand how they have successfully coped in the past, clients are able to use this insight and apply it to their current presenting problems while building on these skills throughout the treatment process. Jessica has experience working in a clinical outpatient setting with high risk adolescents and their families presenting with significant symptoms of depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and trauma as often manifested through suicidal ideation and self-injurious behaviors. These symptoms impacted the client's functioning within the home, educationally, and socially. Jessica utilized a team approach to treatment and often employed individual, group, and family therapy in addition to collaboration with school personnel and psychiatrists as part of her client’s treatment plan. This allowed her to work towards positive outcomes while considering the client's level of functioning within multiple systems. Jessica’s therapeutic perspective focuses on positive collaborative efforts from a strengths-based, solution focused approach. She utilizes her training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and therapeutic modalities including Psychodynamic, Family Systems and interpersonal, coupled with mindfulness and relaxation techniques to assist clients in overcoming challenges and obstacles that are preventing them from living a happier and more satisfying life. Jessica received her Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Public Relations from Hofstra University and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Adelphi University. Jessica is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of New York. Jessica is available for evening and Saturday appointments.
