BiographyAbout Martita
Martita Robinson, MHC-LP, is a heart centered therapist who helps her clients focus on self-acceptance, presence and emotional processing in order to heal. She focuses on allowing her clients to feel safe, seen and heard. Using an empowered, goal-oriented approach, Martita utilizes therapeutic techniques which maximize one’s ability to relax and settle into self. She believes wholeheartedly in the mind, body, spirit connection and enjoys implementing holistic principals if the client so desires. Martita also finds deep value in supporting clients in understanding their past to help overcome obstacles within the present. Martita uses her training and extensive experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, mindfulness and meditation in her work with clients. She has worked with diverse populations including those experiencing family/couple conflict, parental issues, addiction, depression, anxiety, health conditions, grief and loss, and trauma. Martita also specializes in treating clients with eating disorders and believes in supporting those going through compulsive eating or binge eating disorder with a full body acceptance approach alongside intuitive based eating. Martita is also a safe place for the LBGTQ community. Martita graduated with her MA in Clinical Mental Health at Midwestern University in Texas and enjoys continuously learning to increase her therapeutic skills. Martita is a mental health counselor in the state of New York and resides with her husband and six children.
