Jessie Laguerre, LMSW (PhD Candidate) is a licensed psychotherapist with extensive experience working with children, adolescents, couples and families. Jessie works with individuals and families facing challenges such as low self-esteem, depression, various forms of anxiety, school/family issues, emotional regulation, behavior/anger management issues, parenting/family transitions, peer/relationship stress, and grief. Jessie’s diverse professional journey has spanned telehealth, school administration, and community advocacy—including being elected as a Hyde Park Central School District Board of Education Trustee—as well as hands-on roles as a school social worker, enriching her understanding of both individual struggles and systemic challenges. Jessie employs a range of evidence-based interventions including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, mindfulness practices, and advanced trauma-specific strategies. Her patient-centered approach emphasizes collaborative exploration and practical solutions, empowering clients to understand and address the roots of their challenges. Having a school social work and administrative background, Jessie brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and understanding of the issues children, teens and parents face in today’s schools. When working Jessie believes strongly in a collaborative approach and the importance of parental involvement when working with children and teens. Beyond her clinical work, Jessie is passionately dedicated to supporting communities of color and has led initiatives to raise awareness of racial trauma and to equip young people of color with essential mental health tools, reinforcing her commitment to fostering resilience and well-being in diverse populations. Fluent in both French and Haitian-Creole, Jessie is known for her warm, kind, and caring demeanor, and takes a deep personal interest in each client’s unique journey. Her genuine empathy and attentive nature ensure that every individual feels truly heard and supported. By creating a safe and nurturing space, she inspires trust and facilitates meaningful growth, helping her clients not only to overcome obstacles but also to flourish. Ms. Laguerre is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Education at Northeastern University and holds a Master’s in Social Work from Adelphi. Jessie is a Master Clinical Social Worker in the State of New York.
