BiographyAbout Alison
Alison Saber, LCSW is a psychotherapist who specializes in work with adolescents, adults and families. She sees clients as part of interrelated systems, and has successfully worked with them in their homes, schools, places of employment, and throughout their community. Alison believes that a strong relationship between a client and his/her therapist is essential for personal growth. Clients have described Alison's style as warm and non-judgmental while keeping communication honest and collaborative. Alison believes that clients have the skills and resources to overcome life's obstacles and encourages clients to draw on their strengths to solve or cope with problems. Alison utilizes her training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and family therapy and incorporates elements of mindfulness and acceptance in her practice. She has experience working with clients as individuals, couples, families, and groups. Alison specializes in anxiety, depression, trauma, body image, interpersonal relationships, substance abuse, sleep disturbance, parental support, behavior management/ADHD and stress management. Alison received her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Colgate University and her Master's Degree in Social Work from Columbia University. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified School Social Worker in New York State.
