BiographyAbout Adara Adara Shafe, LMSW, is a psychotherapist who loves working with children, adolescents, adults, parents and couples. Adara has experience with those facing new or challenging life transitions, such as starting a new job, college, becoming new parents, as well as those struggling with anxiety, self-esteem, relationships, depression and more. Adara employs several therapy modalities including motivational interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), play therapy, role play, and solution focused. In her work with couples and parents, Adara utilizes Emotionally Focused Treatment (EFT) and psychoeducation around human behavior and mental illness. Adara’s eclectic approach to therapy is client-centered and based on the belief that the client-therapist relationship is the biggest facilitator for change. Therefore, Adara prioritizes creating a safe, judgement-free space where a rapport can be built. Her warm and compassionate presence allows her clients to feel a sense of safety and trust and fully engage in the therapeutic process. Adara earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from CUNY Hunter’s Silberman School of Social Work. Adara is a Licensed Master Social Worker in the State of New York.
